Rala Oroman was a master of his craft, known throughout the kingdom of Tanious for his work. It was because of his reputation that he was granted an audience with Lord Ferdn for an invention he called the ‘Catapult’. Keen on the idea, Lord Ferdn granted him the resources to make the machine in exchange for the plans after a successful demonstration of it’s power.
It was unfortunate for Rala that he never tested his plans before the demonstration. As Lord Ferdn took it upon himself to give the catapult it’s first shot, the contraption shattered and collapsed, impaling Ferdn and killing him instantly. His successor called it an elaborate plot of assassination and had Rala executed for treason.
